It's been a few years, but last time I tried it, I didn't like Vegemite

I leave for Australia in less than 3 days. THREE. I haven't packed a thing.

We changed my flight. I'm now leaving at 7:10 p.m. I also fly into Sydney instead of Melbourne. And let's be honest: I'm hoping to get an early morning glimpse of the opera house during the landing.

Even though I haven't packed, I at least have what I need. I got Australian currency at the bank to get me started (one of the bank managers is Australian and lived in Canberra for a while, so she was excited to talk to me). I picked up my visa at the embassy (an incredibly easy process - I dropped off my app one day, and it was available for pick-up the next).

A note for anyone studying abroad: Don't forget to consider the cost of application fees. Fees to apply for housing, health insurance, the visa, and programs at the home and aboad universities all add up pretty quickly and can reach $1000 before you know it.
